Hugh McCarthy retired as a Headteacher after 23 years of service in that role. He also lectured in a post graduate leadership course at the University of Ulster. Hugh has served as a director on two of N. Ireland’s major education councils, most recently as a ministerial appointment on Northern Ireland’s Curriculum and Examination Council (CCEA). He is a member of Pandata and Collateral Global. He has almost 50 years of experience in education. Hugh holds a master’s degree with Distinction in Education Financial Management, an Honours degree in Chemistry, and a BA in Public Administration.
Hugh spoke with Diane Rasmussen McAdie about a range of concerns related to the decline of education in the UK. In particular, he explained the school situation in Northern Ireland. He shared that Northern Ireland’s education system is unique amongst the four UK devolved nations because of The Education Reform (Northern Ireland) Order 1989. It allows parents to have an active voice in what their children do or do not learn in schools.
It is noteworthy that the current Labour Government’s Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill, which was approved in the House of Commons on 18 March 2025, will require all schools to teach the same national curriculum. This of course will include the controversial Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education (PSHE), which incorporates sexual content. Hugh has referenced two documents by the World Health Organization that reveal the globalists’ agenda to sexually indoctrinate children in schools: “Standards for Sexuality Education in Europe: A Framework for Policy Makers, Educational and Health Authorities and Specialists“ and International Technical Guidance on Sexuality Education: An Evidence-informed Approach“.
Diane and Hugh both agree that information about what is taught in schools needs to be spread as much as possible so that parents, grandparents, and other concerned adults will fight the school administrators, local councils, and the UK Government, who are all supportively pushing age-inappropriate content on children. A particular focus is necessary on Bridget Phillipson. She is Secretary of State for Education and Minister for Women and Equalities, but she cannot define what a ‘woman’ is.
Hugh mentioned a Family Education Trust conference that will be taking place on 7 April 2025 at 7pm at the VicRyn Conference Centre in Lisburn, Northern Ireland, at which parents in Northern Ireland can learn more about their rights. For details, viewers can email Lucy Marsh.
