Health Care in War Zones: What a Doctor Witnessed in Gaza

Please note: this is a challenging presentation which hides nothing of the reality of the Gaza bombardment. It is not suitable for children and viewer discretion is advised. We strongly urge you to watch it to the end, however, and if you feel as we do, share it as widely as possible. This has to be stopped.

Mike Robinson and Jose Vega introduce a presentation given on 1st November in New York by Dr Mark Perlmutter, who had recently returned from serving for three weeks in a Gaza hospital.

Initially banned from giving this presentation to an audience at Mount Sinai Hospital, Jose Vega and Diane Sare used campaign funds to obtain a new venue for the talk.

Dr. Mark Perlmutter, president of the World Surgical Foundation and past president of the International College of Surgeons, has been involved in over 40 life-saving missions in the last 30 years, including during the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center in Manhattan, the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana, and the 2010 earthquake in Haiti. None of those experiences compares with what Dr. Perlmutter witnessed in the Gaza Strip.
